Put on your best green and start celebrating because everyone will be Irish this Saturday at the St. Patrick's Day Festival in North Myrtle Beach and two in Myrtle Beach, including a new festival on Ocean Boulevard.

The 22nd annual St. Patrick's Day Festival on Main Street in North Myrtle Beach kicks off at 9 a.m. with the parade of green and continues with entertainment until 4 p.m. The festival features a variety of bands on the Hillside Stage including Gaelstorm, the Myrtle Beach Regional Pipe Band, the Triple Toe Cloggers and Emerald Rose. The oceanfront stage will feature entertainment by the North Myrtle Beach Ocean Wave Cloggers, the Myrtle Beach Regional Pipe Band, Prodigals and the North Myrtle Beach School of Performing Arts.

In addition to arts and crafts, jewelry, paintings and wood carvings, there will be plenty of food and beer to go around. The festival, which is well-suited for the entire family, features a children's section with rides and games. Admission to the festival is free. Ben Folds is embarking on a spring solo tour, kicking off at the House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach on Saturday.

The last time Folds performed in Myrtle Beach was back in 1993 or '94, he recalled during a phone interview from Nashville.

"I was trying to remember that today," Folds said. "[It was] before the band even had a record out. I don't believe we played Myrtle ever after being a recording artist."
